Madagascar 2

Just in case anyone is concerned about Kate and whether or not we’ve neglected her cartoon education by keeping her from Madagascar 2… Fear not! She likes to move it, move it! We went to see Madagascar 2 at the IMAX Thanksgiving weekend. And while the Science Center was a bit busy, the movie was wonderful!

Kate gives it 2 thumbs up or is that “1 zebra named Marty” up.

Thanksgiving Addendum

We were having so much fun at Thanksgiving that we forgot to take more photos but there were a few more that I thought you’d enjoy. First we have Jake and Gma Roo getting ready to cook up a storm Thanksgiving morning. That’s Kate’s apron he’s got on. As soon as he saw Gma Roo pull out an apron he had to have one too.

A time to give thanks

This year Thanksgiving was held at our house and we had the entire family over, and two friends of Candice’s.  An enjoyable day of football, good food, good drink and X-Box (Rock Band) was had by all.  Below you can see the spread as it begins to take shape.  Everyone had personalized cards created by Kate that let them know where they could sit.  We are all thankful for family, friends and good health and hope everyone has the same.

Puzzles Galore

Kate has always been a puzzle fanatic–we think it’s a gene picked up from the Giffin clan since Bapa and Pete have also always been very spacially adept and hardcore fans. But Jake has just started working on Kate’s knob puzzles and so I think she has entered a Renaissance phase with her puzzle work.

Her favorites right now are Scooby Doo and the Princess puzzles (she doesn’t stray far from the marketing that society inundates her with) but she’s back to working on multiple puzzles at a time and doing them with great care and interest.

Mmmmm…achievements

My pursuit of X-Box achievements continues, and once again with precise planning I hit another milestone.  35000 points.  It happened prior to the release of the New X-Box Experience which I was beta testing, so I had to wait until it was officially released before I could actually post the picture.  You can also check out my Avatar.  It mostly looks like me (there is actually a pony-tail back there).  My biggest complaint is that they don’t have a baseball hat I can wear backwards!

The contagion is spreading

And no, not because it’s cold and flu season. Jake has been watching us all play Guitar Hero and Rock Band, from Pete and I on guitar and base to Kate on drums, and now he’s ready to join the band. So without further ado, here comes trouble.

Jake’s now living with the guitars whenever and wherever he can get his hands on them. He even throws a perfect spoiled rotten “Rocker destroying his hotel suite” fit if you’re not careful on how you try to take it away.

We’ll let you know when the family band is fully operational.

I’m a PC

As marketing campaigns go I know that there are very firm camps out there as to whether or not Microsoft’s response to Apple’s Mac/PC ads is good enough. But Pete and I are both company “men” and so when we realized that one of Jake’s first clear word outside of family names and milk was going to be “apple,” we decided we had to do a bit of training (read brainwashing for the Apple camp).

Thus my mission was born to get my son to say “I’m a PC.” It took much less work than I thought it would and although my bias is immeasurable in its greatness, he’s pretty cute saying it.
