Jacob had his one month check-up today. He’s gained 12 ounces in the 11 days since his last check-up. He’s finally back up to and past his birth weight which makes everyone happy.
His current stats:
- Weight: 8 pounds, 11 ounce (25%)
- Height: 22 1/2 inches (75%)
Here he is hanging out, showing off those cool eyes and lack of hair.
Candice’s new favorite picture of her little boy. “Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting!”

We had a family filled Mother’s Day. Kate’s Grandma Roo and Auntie Tricia came by and we all went for a picnic lunch at Marymoor Park. It was still fairly overcast, and the wind was blowing so it wasn’t as much fun as we’d all hoped, but we still had a good time. After lunch the ladies went out for some shopping. Later that evening Daddy cooked dinner for everyone (Yellow fin tuna with balsamic vinegar glaze & a nice bottle of Chardonnay). Since it was Mother’s Day, there were desserts in large supply: Tricia brought Cheesecake, Mommy made Brownies, and Daddy bought a Chocolate Decadence ice cream pie). Here is everyone after a long day.

Kate continues to be a big helper, and she really likes feeding her little brother Jacob.

The obligatory new picture of Jacob (with his eyes open!)

Jacob is already 3 weeks old, the time is flying by. He keeps going back and forth between having gained enough weight and not having gained enough weight so he gets to visit the doctor every couple days for weight checks. We are happy that we haven’t had to supplement him with formula so far. Here he is eyes open, checking out the tree outside my office window.

Then of course there is the more common expression we are used to seeing from Jacob…

Our lives have been pretty busy during the last week. We got central air installed in the new house (this summer is going to be sooo comfortable). We finally worked through all the pain of getting a shed approved with the neighborhood council and had that installed, freeing up the third garage for Pete’s workshop. Saturday the family went out to Yvette’s 4th birthday party (a good friend of Kate’s from daycare) to Jump Planet. Daddy and Kate got to run around on the giant inflatable toys while Mommy and Jacob got all the attention.
Sunday was Daddy’s first softball game of the season which we lost (but Daddy went 4 for 4). We have a lot of new people on the team this year, and we moved up to a more competitve league, but overall the team did pretty well since nobody has picked up a bat or ball since last August.
